((The second post in a new series called Lynchburg Fridays, talking about the unique treasures this city holds)).
I wasn't sure if post-grad life was going to be scary. And some days it is, I mean paying bills equals anxiety 101... But what I've found mostly, is that this time is precious and this season is groundbreaking for the rest of your life. In a really good and exciting way. And so I decided that I didn't want to waste it. So, instead I looked at all of the things I've wanted to do but never had the time ((and more so the courage)) to actually start. And I just started. Because I realized there was nothing to lose, except what I would miss if I didn't.
I live in an apartment with some of the very best girls you could find. And our little place became a blank space ((cue Taylor's song now playing through your head, you're welcome)) for DIY projects galore. My roomie-slash-BFF Veronica is the queen of it all, and after a summer of her painting canvases I finally told her she just needs to sell them. Because it's not fair for people not to have the chance to see them. So one night, kind of accidentally, we sat down and created our "business plan," and Dreaming in Gold became our shop! Her paintings, my garlands. And really a way to combine everything we love, art, decor, photography, marketing, graphic design etc. It's been fun and exciting and adventurous, and I know being here in Lynchburg has been the perfect place to start ((I talk more about why in my post from last week here)).
