Easter, for the unprepared hearts.
It snuck up on me this year. All the extra working this month for a trip and then the trip and then it was here? So when I woke up to Good Friday my heart became anxious. I needed more time. I needed all the reflection and all the processing and all the hours in the Word to walk myself through Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. So I could be Easter prepared, you know?!
But we don't need more preparation. We need more JESUS.
And so I'm taking a deep breath, letting grace be grace, and resting in the truth that the Good News of our Gospel is life-giving every.single.day. Not just on April 16th. He's alive and sanctifying my heart as we speak. Bringing wholeness where the world leaves broken scars, for us to be the light where there is none. "And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ." 2 Cor 5:18
Brb while I grab a plate of leftovers, sit down next to my half-wilty flower arrangement and read this old "Holy Week" series (here if you need it too!). Because better late than never. Amen amen amen (!!!)
#XOXO P.S. Easter Brunch is my favorite idea ever and we promise to do it always. Right C?! Right.
