Dressing for success, or something like that.
Blouse (J.Crew old)/ Pants/ Shoes/ Necklace Question: when do you feel old enough to have to dress like an adult that has a real job?? Because struggling over here as a 24-year-old, feeling like I'm pretending to be a grown-up attending meetings with people you address as Doctor, or Director, or President (working at a university, not DC, but still). I may or may not have been in a committee meeting deciding whether or not to propose community service hours as a graduation requirement. And all of the sudden I had to raise my hand and say, "Hold on, sorry. Am I supposed to be here right now? I feel like I'm in the wrong class... should I just slip out the back?"
Just kiddingggg, I know you were cringing after that. I presented my thoughts in a matter-of-fact-I-know-what-I'm-talking-about, kind of way. I didn't even smile, to make my opinions more serious of course. So I guess I fooled them for now. Tada! No, but you guys. The bigger situation over here is figuring out how to dress like a #GIRLBOSS on the daily. Currently living off these pixie slacks and hoping no one notices the repeat? Fingers crossed.
