So the cold came, and my skin is just not having it. Nothing worse than chapped lips that even chapstick doesn't cure, you know? It was time for a little exfoliation 101 slash DIY scrub. My tools of choice: Organic Coconut Oil and Sugar. YES and YES. Coconut oil because it's basically gold. Constantly moving it from my kitchen pantry to my bathroom and back, since I use it for everything ((I mean if I could only take one thing to a deserted island it would be this. No sunburning, moisturized skin, you're teeth would be clean AND white, and all the food you somehow catch and cook would taste like Zoës Kitchen. I could go on really)) because like I said, gold. Sugar for the scrub/smell/taste, and because sugar. SO...
- Mix about 1/3 sugar to 2/3 coconut oil
- It becomes a scrub-like crumbly texture
- Rub on your lips, exfoliating for 30-seconds
- Rinse off with cool water
- Apply a moisturizing lip-balm
TA-DA. It's like summer made an appearance in the middle of winter. Dreams. Also, can we just talk about these little Burt's Bees gems? Tinted lip balm. I'm obsessed. Get one in every color and then thank me later.
