6:30am: Alarm goes off ((it used to be 5:45am so I'm praising over here)). Roll out of bed, brush my teeth, and throw on the yoga clothes I set out the night before. Some Most days I head to Starbucks first. Obvi.
7-8: I'll get to work and have about 20-minutes before my sweet baby will be awake. I basically don't try and do anything except sit on the couch... and wake-up. Then once the cries float down from upstairs, I warm up a bottle and head up for my favorite moment of the morning. Seeing her excitement when it's me coming through the door. The sweetness.
8-9: Thankfully we're both slow morning girls, so it's not unusual for it to take an hour for her to finish her breakfast ((lots of snuggles intertwined)).
9-9:30: Time to finish my coffee, and catch up on a show. They have Hulu Plus, so, #winning. She's usually still cuddly so she doesn't move far from my lap. Mostly it's lots of practice standing and giggling over tangling my hair up.
9:30-12: Playtime first, of course. She doesn't mind me making phone calls or checking Instagram, thx girl lovya for it. She'll have an early lunch and then become fussy so I know it's nap time. But this girl is a struggleeee to put down, so it's a good 30-minute or longer routine before she'll finally be laid down in her crib. ((BTW I promise I didn't do anything but lighten this picture. How striking are her eyes though?!)).
12-2: Once she's down I know I'll get a good 2-hours in, so I set up a little work station and knock out a bunch of writing/photo edits/e-mails, etc.
2-3: Normally we'd be out the door on a walk... towards an iced coffee, wasting away the rest of the afternoon in the sun. But winter means none of that. So we're back in the playroom, and I'll try to read a few chapters. As you can see she's much more interested in me paying attention to her instead. Cutest.
3-3:30: It's around now that I realize I should probably get ready for the day if I'm going out after work. So I let the little bug play at my feet while I swipe some mascara on. Right after, I scoop her up to lay her down for her second nap.
3:30-4:30: She's down for maybe an hour, but enough time for me to be still. Sitting in the sunlight from the window I read and pray and take the time to be quiet, while I have it.
5:30: Playtime until her Dad gets home. Another "work" day over.
Not glamorous or anything special really. Simple and routine. But I love it, because really I'm getting paid to love a baby who loves me back. Mixed with rough days of no napping and lots of dirty diapers and no reason to wear cute outfits or even wash my hair. But it's the absolute best, and it's not forever so I'm soaking up the snuggles while I still can.
